We enjoyed going to church Christmas Eve Day- I'm so thankful for our church. It's a wonderful place to worship our Savior with fellow believers. I'm thankful to be fed each week from the Word of God (I hear they have a great teaching pastor :), sing God honoring music and fellowship with believers that desire to worship God more!
Love these ladies.
One of my favorite parts of Christmas Day is waking up early, having my coffee and reading the Word and praying with all the white lights. Its so amazing to think the Jesus, the Light of the world, came to save us in such humble means. Truly brings me to a place of worship and adoration.
Now the littles are awake and stockings are opened!
Savannah was so sweet and made everyone a card this year.
 New books!
 Sisters.
It was a wonderful Christmas- we celebrated just the 5 of us and enjoyed a relaxing day.
 They love their Beanie Boos!
 More reading...
and books. I love how they stop and play or read each thing they open.
A piano!! We got the kids a keyboard and plan on getting them lessons this coming year!!
They were very surprised!
 My little artist.
 New clothes!
 Ho ho.
Jesse put together a creative scavenger hunt with clues that led the girls all over the house and yard in order to find out...we're going to Arizona to see the cousins!! The girls were THRILLED!
 Snuggles and a movie.
Love that she still has her blankie!
Daddy cuddles are the best!

Christmas Festivities

The girls were able to be angels and announce the birth of Christ to the little toddler Sunday School classes. Glory to God in the highest!!
One of my highlights is dates with each girl and Christmas shopping for sisters. So sweet to see how they like picking out presents for each other! They go so excited Christmas morning to give their gifts.
 PJ night at AWANA!!
A very SWEET delivery was made to ur house! A friend have us really neat candies that the girls LOVED!
 Ice skating with the Azers!

The girls had their first experience of Chuck E Cheese...whew! Tickets galore!
The Grinch almost stole Christmas, but we ate him!
 Christmas celebrations with Miss Penny!
 Green Springs is decorated beautifully.
 Peanut butter blossoms!
A church around the corner from us does a live nativity that the girls really enjoy each year.

One of our Christmas traditions is looking at lights with the Pinkleys!

This year we added a trip to McClean Bible to check out their Christmas festival. We had a blast!

Museum of the Bible

D.C. has a new museum...Museum of the Bible! We went as a family last week and just loved it. come visit and we'll take you!
There's a great kids room where they have lots of hands-on learning.
My favorite part of the museum was the Old Testament section. It's quite impressive.
This looks like the real Sea of Galilee.
Geneva admired the real Geneva Bible.
Co-op has been so fun the last few weeks! We had spirit day- dress up as your favorite crayon color!
Savannah was both the sun and the moon in a little play.
Savannah also played several songs with the chimes in front of a large group of people!
I was so happy for her.
Nothing like s'mores when it feels like 22 degrees outside!
Christmas Concerts at IBC were amazing, as always! We enjoyed going with neighborhood friends.
Tis the season! Snickerdoodles and peanut butter blossoms are up for grabs :)

Christmas Time is Here!

One of our family traditions is decorating for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving! The girls remind me they can stay in their PJ's, and so look forward to getting ready for this season.
Advent is a time of celebration looking back at why Jesus came, and also a celebration looking forward with great expectation to His return! Now we wait-
we wait differently then those in the Old Testament, for we have seen the fulfillment of the Messiah, now we wait for the return of our Lord to reign.
We are reading O Come Let US Adore Him by Tripp as a family this year. It's been great as we discuss the need for a Savior with the kids and it causes our hearts to worship Him for His perfect sacrifice.
Opening the Christmas boxes and finding old favorite books, decorations, and toys is such a blast!
Geneva woke up that morning talking about her "black and white dog that goes on the tree". I couldn't remember that she had a Snoopy ornament, but apparently she remembered all year long!
Each girl has their very own box of ornaments to decorate the tree with. Such treasures.
She made that one in Kindergarten. Aw.
The girls did an excellent job!
Not only is it beginning to sounds and look a little like Christmas, it's smelling and tasting a bit like Christmas too. Growing up, we always had my great-grandma's Italian recipes at this time.
The girls decorated Christmas cookies with Miss Penny.
They tuned out both delicious and beautiful!
Geneva was thrilled to have Cubbie Bear home for two weeks!
My little math worker in her "thinking cap".
