Mr. and Mrs. Roberts

Here's Jesse praying with the girls before the wedding. You can't see it, but the flower girl's basket is on the floor, and Maddie was practicing being a flower girl during the prayer when every one's eyes were closed :)
Last touches before walking down the aisle.
Jesse was privileged to marry Andy and Tanya.

Kenny Eliazer took these two pictures of Madison at the reception.

I had to post this one- she loves talking on her phone!

Lately...

Maddie and I went to the park with Rachel for a picnic dinner and playtime.
She could swing all day.

Rachel is so much fun! We were trying to get Madison to look at the camera, that's why there is a water bottle in the corner of the picture!
Tonight we were at the church for Tanya and Andy's wedding rehearsal.
She loves playing with her car- she even makes car noises!
A beautiful bridesmaid- Karina.
More beautiful bridesmaids- Jessica, Hannah, and Rachel. Thanks Hannah for these cool shoes!
Daddy loved Maddie's crazy hair tonight :)

Maddie's Got Moves

Recently, Maddie has been copying me dance- only she's much cuter! I love how she puts her hands in the air! What a joy :)

Visit with the Tremaines

Jan Tremaine has been one of my closest friends since we met 23 years ago. We were both 7, our dads were pastors at Grace, and we were neighbors. We went from playing pretend and selling lemonade to going to camps and sleep overs. Her family moved away when we were only 12, but our friendship continued. We flew to see each other a few times, and were even bridesmaids in each others' weddings. Until this week, it had been three years since we had seen each other. Her family came to vacation in Newport Beach, so Maddie, Jesse, and I drove down and spent the day with their family. She has four kids, and her sister came to join in the fun as well. Somehow, probably because we were having so much fun, I didn't get any pictures of Jan or of her 2 older boys, but here are the few pictures I did manage to take:
Dave, Jesse, and their youngest Michael.
He is such a cutie!
Megan being a ham, and Jan's sister, Melissa in the background.
Maddie taking a stroll on the beach. Miss independent.
And miss filthy.
After the beach, the dads and kids played mini golf while the ladies cooked. The evening was complete with a swim in this beautiful pool- that's Mark and Matthew swimming. Thanks Tremaine's for spending a day of your vacation with us! We had so much fun! The memories continue...

Car Seats

So, I am in the market for a front-facing car seat. Does anyone have advice on where to get/which one to get? Maddie is needing one, and I just about choked when I saw they start around $200! Where can I get a less expensive one?
(Craigslist had nothing).
Thanks for your help!

Babysitters

This week has been unusual in that we've had 3 different babysitters for Madison! Maddie usually goes to my mom's, but when Mimi is out of town, we venture out into the real world of babysitters. I have to say, Jesse and are are blessed to have a ton of college students from our Bible Study to choose from. These girls are like big sisters to Madison- I love it! They are so sweet, not only did they babysit, they also found things to clean in my house!!!!! I will leave them unnamed, that way their reward will be in heaven :) Here are a couple pictures one of the wonderful babysitters took-

Thank you ladies! The Johnson's love you dearly!

Daddy's Home

Jesse was is Florida for the last week teaching at another High School summer camp. We missed him so much! So Mads and me hopped in the car and drove down to LAX Saturday to pick him up. We stopped for lunch at the In and Out right by the airport. This was an experience! Not only did Maddie get a bunch of Daddy's strawberry milkshake, she also saw the planes land!
They were so loud!
Then on Sunday afternoon Jesse went to his office to prepare for preaching in "big" church last night. So I watched Madison entertain herself with a piece of paper- it's so funny what will keep her occupied.
Look at those teeth! BEWARE when feeding: they are sharp!
Jesse preached a really interesting message on angels from Hebrews 2 last night. After all the preaching and traveling, I wanted to make him breakfast in bed.
Jesse and Maddie are so cute together- I couldn't help taking pictures!
Jesse brought back this adorable "Little Chick" PJ's and "Buttercup" sippy for Maddie- he's the best Dad!

Aunt Dottie is Going Home

Aunt Dottie has been visiting for 5 weeks, and is leaving today. We are so sad to see her go!
She and Madison have become great buddies! Aunt Dottie was here for some big events like- her first birthday and party, watching her first movie, learning to walk, giving hugs and kisses, switching to milk (no more formula), more and more babbling, and eating solids like a champ! We were so glad to spend this time with you- you are precious to us!
Here is the first video I've been able to upload:

Cousins

My friend Hannah took these fun pictures of the cousins and Aunt Dottie while they were visiting. It was hard getting all of them to be still and looking at the camera at the same time, but I think they are great photos!

Thank you Hannah!
